8pm
i was the first vehicle on the left lane and when the lights turned green, i accelerated and intended to move to the lane on the right side because i knew that in front there was an exit from a school and the cars coming out from there were a hazard.
as i neared this exit, i tried to change lanes but a car on the right side suddenly sped up so i increased my speed accordingly to merge ahead of him. i was almost at the exit now and 2 things happened simultaneously. 2 of the worst things, in fact.
1. the car beside me accelerated further until it was directly beside me, blocking my lane-change.
2. a car suddenly crept out at the school exit.
BOOM!
i'm not sure what happened next but i was fine, surprisingly, given that i had rammed straight into the car at quite a high speed. my bike was badly smashed though, and i decided to sell it since i was quite traumatised and didn't want to test my luck again.
i went about my business for a while before i went to sleep. when i next woke up, it felt like i had been asleep for ages. my body was weak and i walked with a limp. i limped about for a bit (feeling like batman), and realised i didn't know where i was.
feeling very disorientated, i tried to recall what had happened previously that brought me to this strange place but i couldn't remember anything.
it was only later that i found out i had just woke up from a coma that lasted months and one of my legs was crippled. apparently i had fallen into a coma immediately after the accident and the rest of the day was just a dream.
what's worse was that 2 other bikes behind me had also crashed, and a girl died. i was being portrayed in the media as the cause of the death and all that shit.
and if that wasn't bad enough, the girl was someone i knew and she was riding pillion with her friend whom i knew too. he was discharged from hospital but she died after a few days. not sure what happened to the people on the third bike since i was too shocked by this news.
i limped around a bit more (feeling like batman) and tried to find out how everyone was dealing with the girl's death. they had outcasted me for 'causing' her death, and i was thinking fuck, i've been in a coma for so long and not any sympathy for me?
i realised i wouldn't be able to do a lot of things now that my leg was crippled (didn't feel like batman anymore), and how that one moment changed my life forever. i was like fuuuuuuck this shiiiiiiiit and i woke up.
